How this service can help you
Our primary aim is to support CPFT staff in dealing with safeguarding issues. However we are also available for advice to other colleagues working with children and young people.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined within 'Working together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families' Department of Health 2013 as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment
- Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
- Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
and taking action to enable all children to have the best life chances.
The Safeguarding Children Team provide advice, guidance and support for all staff working within CPFT. We will help and signpost other colleagues as necessary via the local safeguarding children network.
How do I access this service?
We do not accept direct referrals from agencies outside Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.
